Job summary

Fairfield Memorial Hospital is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Med/Surg team on the night shift. You will deliver direct patient care across the lifespan, educate patients and families, and collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality care.

Responsibilities include administering medications, supervising staff, participating in discharge planning, maintaining accurate documentation, and contributing to quality improvement

Qualifications

• Requires ADN and Illinois RN license; BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications (or willing to obtain within 6 months).
• Med/Surg or ICU nursing experience preferred.
• Strong patient education and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective patient care using the nursing process.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Perform emergency and resuscitative treatment as needed.
• Supervise LPNs, aides, and ancillary staff; review and sign off on documentation.
• Participate in discharge planning and patient/family education using teach-back method.
• Maintain accurate computerized charting and medication administration records.
• Uphold hospital policies, procedures, and standards of service excellence.
