Job summary

Fairfield Memorial Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Med/Surg team in Illinois. The RN will deliver direct patient care, educate patients and families, and collaborate with physicians.

Responsibilities include applying the nursing process, administering medications, and participating in discharge planning with teach-back education. The ideal candidate holds an Associate Degree in Nursing with IL RN licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS (or willingness to obtain within 6 months).

Qualifications

• Required: Associate Degree in Nursing; Illinois RN license; BLS, ACLS, PALS certification (or obtain within 6 months).
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective patient care using the nursing process.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Perform emergency and resuscitative treatment as needed.
• Supervise LPNs, aides, and ancillary staff; review and sign off on documentation.
• Participate in orientation of new personnel and ongoing continuing education.
• Engage in discharge planning and patient/family education using teach-back method.
• Maintain accurate computerized charting and medication administration records.
• Demonstrate professionalism in dress, hygiene, and patient interactions.
• Participate in Quality Management/Performance Improvement activities.
• Uphold hospital policies, procedures, and standards of service excellence
