Job summary

Mission Community Hospital in Panorama City, CA is seeking a dedicated Med Surg RN for night shifts to provide high-quality care on the medical-surgical unit. You will ensure patient safety, comfort, and recovery throughout the night, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes compassionate patient care, strong communication, and the ability to respond to emergencies while maintaining a therapeutic environment in line with hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in California.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Strong clinical nursing skills and ability to provide compassionate care.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively during night shifts and adapt to changing patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions during night shifts.
• Monitor patient health and vital signs, administer medications, and perform treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and update individualized patient care plans.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and provide supportive care as needed.
• Document nursing care activities and patient responses accurately and timely.
• Educate patients and their families about care plans, procedures, and post-discharge needs.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
