Job summary

FuelCell Energy Solutions GmbH in Torrington, CT is seeking a Material Handler responsible for transporting material, supplies and finished products to designated locations on the manufacturing floor. The role requires coordinating production material and working the 11:30 pm – 7:30 am shift.

You will ensure timely movement, proper documentation, and safe handling while supporting continuous production and inventory accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or other formal training in related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives, distributes, and stores products as directed in designated locations.
• Prepares and maintains records of materials received and shipped including dates of transactions, locations, and other pertinent information.
• Reviews shipments for quality and accuracy; reviews accompanying documents for accuracy.
• Confirms shipping details or special instructions; expedites shipments that affect the manufacturing process schedule.
• Transports and loads materials, supplies, and finished goods (manually and/or using hand trucks and skids).
• Performs the physical tasks involved in the movement of raw and finished goods to their assigned destination in a safe manner and in compliance with defined processes.
• Interacts and communicates effectively with customers, teammates and material coordinating personnel to ensure material is expedited safely and accurately in accordance with production schedule.
• Prepares workstations and work areas to ensure material is properly stocked and ready at point of use to support production.
• Participates in inventory cycle counting and reporting.
• Properly documents material movement as required.
• Collects and disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintains a safe and clean work environment.
• Support and be supported by teammates in all aspects of the operation.
• Participate in and contribute to process improvements.
• Demonstrate willingness to perform other duties as assigned, including overtime when necessary.
• Comply with EH&S Policy and report unsafe conditions or hazards promptly.
• On-call weekly for Field Service duty.
