Job summary

Gerdau in Duluth, MN is seeking a Material Handler to perform a variety of material handling duties, operate forklift, overhead crane, and railcar puller, and support warehouse, shipping, and production with limited supervision.

Night shift is 7pm–7am (3 Nights On, 3 Nights Off) with comprehensive benefits including medical, vision, 401K with company match, vacation, PTO, life insurance, and EAP; certification training provided during orientation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; forklift and overhead crane certifications during orientation.
• 0-3 months’ work experience; manufacturing environment experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, add, subtract and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift, overhead crane, and railcar puller to load/unload materials and move products.
• Transfer finished product from production lines and secure it for shipment.
• Move packaged product to storage or loading dock and place supply items in proper location.
• Complete Material Handlers sheet and safety inspections accurately.
• Coordinate with production on changes to size/grades of products for correct materials.
