Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. in Brenham, TX is seeking a Night Shift Material Handler to load all products safely and accurately according to company policies.

The 3rd shift runs Monday–Thursday from 9 PM to 7 AM with overtime as needed. Starting pay is $20.34 per hour plus a $1.00 per hour shift differential, with step pay increases at 90 days, 1 year and 2 years and eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must read and write English
• Ability to use common manufacturing math
• 6 months manufacturing experience
• 6 months heavy equipment experience
• 6 months inventory control system experience
• Certified forklift operator
• Crane training completed
• Proficient in straddle truck operation

Responsibilities

• Identify material by part number, description, quantity and quality
• Gather customer orders and stage by stop schedule on the consolidation card
• Use ship papers and load sheets to identify product to be loaded as required
• Transport product to the staging area using forklift and straddle truck
• Operate overhead cranes to lift/move pole product
• General housekeeping including sweeping, painting, and mopping
• Dispose of wood dunnage safely to avoid hazards
• Assist in loading trailers
• Other duties as assigned
