Job summary

Valmont Industries in Brenham, TX is seeking a Material Handler to load products safely and accurately according to policies. Working under the Supervisor, you will identify materials by part number, stage orders, and operate forklifts and cranes in a night shift.

Starting pay is $20.34 per hour with a $1 shift differential; opportunities for step increases and discretionary bonus exist. The role requires reading, basic math, crane and forklift training, and a commitment to safety with

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must read and write English.
• 6 months manufacturing experience.
• 6 months heavy equipment experience.
• 6 months inventory control system experience.
• Become a certified forklift operator.
• Overhead crane training.
• Become proficient operating a straddle truck.

Responsibilities

• Identify material by part number, description, quantity and quality.
• Gather customer orders and stage by stop schedule on the consolidation card.
• Use ship papers and load sheets to identify product to be loaded.
• Transport product to the staging area using forklift/straddle truck.
• Operate overhead cranes to lift/move pole product.
• Perform housekeeping: sweeping, painting, mopping.
• Dispose of wood dunnage to avoid tripping hazards.
• Assist in loading trailers as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
