Job summary

PPG Industries, Inc in Wallingford, CT is seeking a Production Associate to join our manufacturing operations. You will help set up, operate, and maintain production equipment to ensure quality products reach customers.

This full-time evening shift (3rd shift, 11:00pm – 7:00am) offers a pay rate of $24.75 per hour, with a 10% shift differential. Training on the first shift (7:00am – 3:30pm) for 3 months is available to ease onboarding and ensure safety and proficiency in operations.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift to 50 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the day.
• Mechanical inclination, ability to use hand tools.
• Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manufacturing Production Workers focus on setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting manufacturing production (i.e., machining, processing, assembly, or packaging) equipment.
• Set up the production equipment and supplies before executing the job orders and operate equipment safely and effectively for production processing.
• Ensure that equipment is maintained in good and safe working conditions.
• Inspect equipment to identify any replacements, malfunctions, and repairs.
• Perform regular equipment maintenance to ensure production capacity and quality. Help junior operators in their assigned responsibilities.
• Repair and clean the equipment when needed. Evaluate equipment performance and recommend improvements.
• Operate trucks and other industrial vehicles to transfer the production equipment between warehouse and working area. Follow safety procedures and company policies for equipment operation.
