Job summary

First Quality is seeking a Manufacturing Automation Programmer to design, program, troubleshoot, and maintain automated control systems across production lines. You will work closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.

The ideal candidate has a 2+ year background in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens) and experience with HMI/SCADA, robotics, and industrial networks.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Controls, Mechatronics, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience programming PLCs (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, or similar).
• Experience with HMI/SCADA software development and robotics programming (Fanuc/ABB/KUKA).
• Understanding of electrical schematics, industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, Profinet), and motor controls/VFDs.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Program, develop and improve PLC programs for production, process and packaging equipment.
• Configure and improve HMI screens for operator control and monitoring.
• Maintain robotics systems integrated into production lines.
• Troubleshoot control system faults, sensors, drives, and networking issues to minimize downtime.
• Support installation, commissioning, and startup of new automated equipment and lines.
• Document control logic, wiring diagrams, and program revisions.
