Georgia-Pacific is hiring a Night Shift Maintenance Technician for the Talladega, AL lumber facility. The role focuses on installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of industrial equipment, with a 12-hour night shift (Sunday-Thursday, 6:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Experience installing, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of industrial equipment.
• Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems and components.
• Able to read and interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to plant safety and environmental guidelines and participate in safety program.
• Support operations efficiency through troubleshooting and maintaining manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Perform periodic proactive asset strategies, such as maintenance routes and preventative maintenance to improve reliability and uptime.
• Install and repair mechanical drives, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, belts and couplings.
• Maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic systems, control devices, hydraulic equipment, circuits and components.
• Work with operations and maintenance teams to identify and prioritize maintenance needs.
• Use pipefitting skills to weld, cut, fit, and install piping throughout the facility.
• Assist operators with machine start-up, shutdown or clean up.
• Communicate daily work performed and machine conditions via written and verbal documentation.

Night Shift Maintenance Technician - Talladega, AL

Georgia-Pacific is now hiring a Maintenance Technician to join our Lumber facility in Talladega, AL!

• Our starting pay is $27.00-33.00/hour depending on experience.
• $ 5.00/hour shift premium for any hours worked Friday - Sunday (overtime rules apply).
• You will have the ability to increase your compensation based on skills and contribution to the overall performance of the mill.

Shift:

• Only candidates who are flexible and available to workanyshift will be considered. This will include overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed.
• 12 hour shifts. Night Shift, Sunday-Thursday, 6:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.
• The week of orientation will be 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and you will be assigned your regular shift after your orientation.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Experience performing installation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Industrial Equipment.

Experience in Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Mechanical systems and components.

Able to read and interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints and schematics.

What Will Put You Ahead

Associate degree or higher in Industrial Technology or other related degree AND at least three (3) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment OR five (5) years equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment

• Working knowledge of precision alignment of motors, couplings, bearings, and lubrication systems and pumps.
• Mechanical maintenance experience, including fluid handling and conveyor systems, hydraulic systems and accumulators, and valve identification and application and welding.
• Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS)
