Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our distribution center in Indiana. The role involves preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and troubleshooting of conveyors, electrical and control systems to keep equipment running at peak efficiency.

Key duties include safety adherence, PMs on lift trucks and hydraulic systems, PLCs, VFDs, and I/O devices, plus collaboration with other technicians.

Qualifications

• Coursework or certification in electronic technology and 2 years industrial maintenance experience specializing in electronic technology, or 3 years industrial maintenance experience.
• PLC/PC program knowledge and troubleshooting experience.
• Industrial electrical hands-on experience and troubleshooting, including 480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24 VDC systems.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills with PCs and industrial controls devices/networking.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, relating technical issues to business leadership.
• Team member will perform shift work and must be willing to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays.
• Customer service oriented.

Responsibilities

• Follows safety procedures to maximize personal and co-worker safety in the DC.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment including lift trucks and conveyors.
• Troubleshoot electrical/electronic problems with PLCs, servo drives, and I/O devices.
• Diagnose electrical problems using drawings and diagnostic tools like multi-meters.
• Assist other maintenance technicians in repairs and maintenance.
• Develops knowledge base of systems within the Distribution Center.
• Maintain organized work area and safe working environment.
• Communicate with customers, suppliers, and associates to minimize downtime.
• Complete work orders and records according to procedures.
• Operate material handling equipment and other powered equipment.
• Ensure workmanship is of the highest quality.
