Job summary

Amcor is seeking an area mechanic to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment across press, finishing and extrusion areas. The role requires reading blueprints, welding and fabrication, and compliance with GMP and food safety standards.

You will operate hand and power tools, use test equipment, and maintain logs of all work. The position includes a 12-hour night shift pattern (2-2-3) with a 3-day weekend every other week and overtime available after training.

Qualifications

• Maintains production equipment through preventive and corrective tasks.
• Reads basic blueprints and technical drawings to guide repairs.
• Operates hand and power tools and uses test equipment.
• Adheres to safety, GMP and LOTO procedures during maintenance.
• Must be able to perform welding (MIG/TIG) and fabrication as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance on production lines including piping and sheet metal work.
• Welding and fabrication of guards per blueprints or verbal instructions.
• Read and follow instructions; log all work in equipment records.
• Maintain safe work practices and PPE usage; participate in training on new equipment.
• Support annual machine overhauls and equipment upgrades.
