Job summary

USG is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support night shift operations in Washington. You will perform preventive maintenance on motors, pneumatic tools, hydraulics, conveyors, and production machines, troubleshoot malfunctions, and maintain documentation of actions and needs.

Requires blueprint literacy, welding, piping installation, and 2+ years in industrial manufacturing. The role emphasizes safety, equipment optimization, and collaboration across maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• Ability to work off of blueprints
• Welding experience required
• Experience with cutting torch and plasma cutter
• Experience with motor/pump alignment
• Experience installing welded, threaded and PVC piping
• Industrial fabrication experience
• Experience with basic shop equipment (drill press, bandsaw, pedestal grinder)
• Basic knowledge of rotary valves and dust collector systems
• Understanding of basic rigging principles and equipment
• Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
• 2+ years’ experience as a mechanic in an industrial manufacturing setting
• Rate of pay may be adjusted based on qualifications and experience

Responsibilities

• Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on motors, pneumatic tools, hydraulic systems, conveyors, and production machines
• Troubleshoot malfunctions by observing devices in operation and using measurement tools
• Remove defective parts by dismantling devices and using hoists, cranes, and hand/tools
• Inspect parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using measuring instruments
• Maintain inventory by checking stock and expediting orders
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and regulations
• Contribute to team effort by documenting actions and continuing needs
• Maintain technical knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing technical publications
