Job summary

Barton Health in South Lake Tahoe, CA is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for the night shift (8:00 pm – 6:30 am, Sunday to Wednesday). The ME will ensure the proper operation of hospital machinery and equipment and execute the preventative maintenance program.

Responsibilities include completing PM tasks on a schedule, troubleshooting equipment, snow removal, repairing patient care devices, responding to codes, and maintaining documentation for work orders.

Qualifications

• AA degree preferred.
• Two-year building/maintenance experience in a healthcare facility preferred.
• Experience with electrical systems and controls.
• Experience in plant mechanical systems such as chillers boilers, pumps and HVAC systems.
• EPA Air Conditioning and Refrigeration certification preferred.
• Valid Driver’s license and DMV record as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain proper operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Complete preventive maintenance tasks on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual and five-year schedule.
• Respond to hospital codes and follow organizational protocols.
• Snow removal and repairs on patient care equipment.
• Operate equipment safely and follow O&M guidelines.
• Document work orders and PM activities accurately.
