Job summary

Novolex in Florence, KY is seeking a Machinist for night shift (7pm–7am). You will complete machine adjustments, modify and repair equipment, and support plant needs with various tasks. Starting pay is $34.37 per hour, with responsibilities spanning setup, maintenance, and safe operation.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 3–5 years' machinist experience, and the ability to operate lathes, milling machines, and a gear shaper. Safety and quality are emphasized in daily work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Machinist trade school experience preferred.
• 3-5 years of applicable work experience required.
• Solid understanding of machinery to perform duties.
• Ability to set up and run lathes and milling machines (Bridgeport).
• Make cylinders and ink pans, chains, and determine correct specifications.

Responsibilities

• Safely perform tasks and follow safety rules and procedures.
• Make plate cylinders and ensure proper fit to details.
• Create gears using gear shaper and verify dimensions.
• Repair machine breakdowns as needed.
• Build up, grind and reweld shafts.
• Weld various metals and braze where required.
• Handle sheet metal work and guard fabrication.
• Respond to radio calls and assist on special projects.
• Keep equipment clean and organized per standards.
