Job summary

Sonoco is hiring a Machine Operator II (Correli Nailer) in Hartselle for the third shift. You will operate machines to cut, machine, and assemble lumber for wood reels used in packaging, reporting to the Team Lead.

The role requires attention to detail and the ability to work with a team in a non-temperature controlled warehouse environment. The position offers a pay rate of $21.58 per hour plus a $1.50 shift differential, with responsibilities spanning from setup to quality checks and safety

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of machine operating experience in an industrial environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for 8 hours.
• Working knowledge of products and their quality requirements.
• Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.

Responsibilities

• Work within a team to handle and process lumber from raw material to finished product.
• Make incremental process adjustments, monitor and report the quality of manufactured products.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Perform all duties as designated by supervisor/manager.
• Perform all duties in support of Sonoco’s quality and safety policies.
• Help other departments as needed.
• Read and understand manufacturing instructions.
• Be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
