Job summary

GOJO Industries in the United States is seeking a Machine Operator I for the 3rd shift to tend continuous production lines at the Lippman Campus in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. The role involves running and monitoring equipment, loading components, and ensuring safety and quality guidelines are followed.

Incumbents will perform changeovers, assist maintenance, and conduct basic quality checks while maintaining logs and housekeeping.

Qualifications

• Requires previous mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of testing equipment and ability to operate this equipment.
• Ability to train others through on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Meet the daily production schedule.
• Performs minor operation and changeover procedures and assists maintenance on major changeovers.
• Verifies availability of required components, sub-assemblies and supplies at work station for upcoming and current orders.
• Retrieve required components for production orders from staging area, back flush or Kanban.
• Functions as part of production crew to load equipment with necessary production components such as caps, bottles, film, pumps, labels and shippers.
• Reconciles and returns remaining components to the locator after production runs.
• Assists the Production Leader to perform quality checks such as weight checks, torque checks, visual inspection, accuracy of counts, skid tags, use of Statistical Process Control (SPC) charting and pallet patterns.
• Maintains line and equipment within housekeeping and cleanliness guidelines.
• Maintains operating records as required and logs for auditing purposes.
• Starts and stops machines and complies with lock-out/tag-out procedures, alerting maintenance of any malfunction.
• Must be familiar and able to operate machine control panels and touch screens; digital communication equipment, and recognize system errors and faults.
• Assists with changeovers and general upkeep of line equipment and basic operation (Fox Jet, Laser Coder, Video Jet).
• Troubleshoots malfunctions and reports abnormalities to the Production Leader/Supervisor and Maintenance.
• Adheres to SOPs, cGMP, safety and housekeeping requirements; may train others as assigned.
• Required to work on production lines as needed and perform all manual functions.
