Job summary

Bongards’ Creameries in Humboldt, TN is seeking a Night Shift Machine Operator to operate cheese making equipment on a rotational basis with the goal of a permanent position on one of the four production lines.

You will perform machine operation, basic equipment troubleshooting, and participate in multi-line coverage, while maintaining GMPs, safety, and quality in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent Math, Reading and Writing skills.
• Strong communication skills required.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
• Ability to work independently on assigned duties.
• Adaptable to sudden changes and willing to learn new skills.
• Knowledge of HMI screens, computers, and PIT is a plus.
• Dependable member of a team.
• Adaptable to work in Cold and Warm environments.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Must adhere to and follow all Safety, GMP, other quality guidelines.
• Must report all food safety problems to immediate supervisor or designated replacement.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Follow instructions from lead, supervisor or designated person.
• Follow GMP guidelines for PPE, Production and Cleanliness.
• Learn to operate multiple machines (filler, casting line, wrapper, former, grinder, massman, bander, etc).
• React quickly to resolve issues.
• Monitor quality of boxes, pouches, labels and communicate to others.
• Unwrap barrels, ensure cheese packages are made correctly.
• Assemble pallets of dry ingredients according to the blend sheet and update ROSS system.
• Open cheese packages and place in rework containers.
• Clean and sanitize machines and work areas after production.
• Keep work area neat, clean and organized.
• Work in a safety-focused, fast-paced team environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Schedule

• Night Shift 5:30pm to 6:00am Monday – Friday, frequent Saturdays
