Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years bedside clinical experience (post-graduate).
• Stepdown, ICU, or LTAC experience required.
• BLS certification before first shift; ACLS certification before first shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care based on assessment data.
• Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and/orientees.
• Provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
• Participate in Initial Team Conferences and weekly Re-evaluation Team Conferences.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of patient admission.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to attending physicians and Charge Nurse.
• Delegate appropriately and provide direction and training to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Maintain accurate, succinct, and timely documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
