Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) for a part-time night shift. Under RN supervision, you will monitor patients, provide supportive care, and contribute to crisis intervention and treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months to 1 year of experience as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician in acute adult psychiatric settings.
• Current California State Licensed Psychiatric Technician license and BLS certification required.
• Work under RN supervision and demonstrate safety and compassionate care.

Responsibilities

• Accept and process physician orders in collaboration with the RN.
• Provide continuous bedside observations and prescribed care under supervision.
• Report changes in patient condition and family needs promptly.
• Offer psychoeducational support and help maintain a therapeutic milieu.
• Participate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure appropriate care and resources.
• Assist with discharge instructions and follow-up planning as needed.
