Job summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for Med/Surg on a PRN night schedule (7pm–7am) in a 38-bed unit. You will collaborate with RNs and CNAs in a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio, assist with patient visits, prepare exam rooms, and support procedures and lab collection.

This role requires NC or compact state LPN license, BLS (within 30 days), ACLS and PALS within six months, and about one year of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina or compact state LPN license required.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
• AHA ACLS and PALS certifications required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred.
• Must work well under stress with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assists Providers with preparation and information documentation for the patient's visit including obtaining vitals, medical history and other pertinent information from the patient.
• Prepares exam rooms for patients.
• Assists Providers with procedures as directed by the Provider.
• Assists with collection of lab samples.
• Gives injections, administers meds, and provides wound care as ordered by Provider.
• Documents all care and education in medical record.
