Job summary
NaphCare is hiring a Full-Time Night Shift Licensed Practical Nurse in Sarasota, Florida to support the Sarasota County Jail. The role collaborates with correctional officers and medical staff to deliver comprehensive care, including assessments, med administration, and emergency response in a controlled environment.
New grads are encouraged to apply; training will be provided in the fast-growing field of correctional healthcare.
Qualifications
- Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Actively state-certified as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Active BLS CPR Certification (American Heart Association).
- Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary information.
- Adhere to Code of Conduct and facility policies.
- Must pass criminal background check and drug screening.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments and interview patients about health problems and medication history.
- Take vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, and weight.
- Provide wound care, including cleaning and bandaging wounds.
- Administer medications and monitor reactions.
- Maintain medical records in TechCare EHR.
- Monitor patient health and mental health status; provide emergency first aid.
- Educate patients and assist with discharge planning.
