Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a 12-hour night shift in a long-term care setting. The position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus and a salary range of $24–$36 per hour. The role supports residents under supervision of a RN/physician, with emphasis on comprehensive assessment, medication administration and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
• If IV therapy skills are required, North Dakota-specific requirements apply (AASPN or IV course per ND Board).
• Must have completed pre-licensure program with clinical experience or 400+ hours as LPN at another facility.
• Specific roles may require additional education or training.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles for the resident in the clinical setting.
• Demonstrates competency within the full scope of nursing knowledge.
• Possesses ability to perform testing to evaluate data and provide necessary care.
• Administers medications or treatments as ordered and documents outcomes.
• Establishes effective working relationships with residents and staff.
• Communicates clearly and maintains confidentiality of information.
• Counsels residents and families on prevention and treatment plans.
• Maintains required competencies and completes CEUs yearly.
