Job summary

Sanford Health in the heartland seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse for long term care, providing professional nursing care under supervision and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team. You will administer medications, observe residents, and contribute to care planning with a focus on safety and comfort.

The role supports 12-hour night shifts, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits including vision and dental insurance and PTO every two weeks.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
• Must have completed a pre-licensure nursing program with supervised clinical experience across the life span.
• Currently holds an unencumbered LPN license with State Nursing board and/or multi-state licensure privileges.
• Obtains and maintains required department competencies and certifications.
• Completes required CEUs and competency training.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles for the resident in the relevant clinical setting.
• Demonstrates competency within the full scope of nursing expertise and age-appropriate standards.
• Possesses ability to perform testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status and to provide the care needed.
• Demonstrates ability to recognize problems, recommend solutions and respond effectively to emergencies.
• Ensures the health, comfort and safety of residents.
• Contributes to the assessment of residents and administers medications or treatments as ordered.
• Documents resident interactions as needed and the outcomes related to resident care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with residents, health care providers, and the public.
• Ability to communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Counsels residents, family members and/or resident advocate on prevention and treatment plans.
