Job summary

Alpharus Health in Chicago, IL is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the 3rd shift (11:00 pm–7:30 am) in a full-time behavioral health setting. The LPN will monitor medications, assist with physician orders, and perform health assessments.

Qualifications include current LPN/VPN licensure, a High School diploma, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Strong interpersonal and analytical skills are essential for patient care and documentation.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as an LPN or VPN as required by state.
• High school diploma.
• Completion of 12-18 months post-high school training in practical or vocational nursing; pharmacology coursework to administer meds.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision administering medications and assessments; knowledge of substance abuse and recovery.
• Interpersonal and analytical skills to interact with clients, families, staff and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Monitors clients self-administering medications and reactions to medication.
• Works with Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care per orders and care plan.
• Conducts initial health screenings and client assessments.
• Assists physicians with examinations or treatments.
• Charts vital signs, treatments and medications; maintains records.
