Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
- Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span.
- Currently holds an unencumbered LPN license with State Nursing board and/or multi-state licensure.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care for residents in long-term care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician.
- Demonstrate nursing competencies and apply age/population specific standards.
- Administer medications or treatments as ordered and document outcomes.
- Maintain confidentiality and communicate with the interdisciplinary care team.
- Counsel residents and family members on prevention and treatment plans.
