Job summary

Homewood Living Plum Creek in the United States is seeking an LPN for a part-time night shift. You will administer medications, maintain care records, and supervise nursing assistants and hospitality aides to ensure high-quality care for residents.

You will participate in care planning, assess residents’ needs, and collaborate with the care team while maintaining strict confidentiality and adherence to policies.

Qualifications

• Current and valid LPN license in the state of practice.
• Judgment, initiative and dependability.
• Ability to read, write and understand English well.
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist and turn during an eight-hour shift.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds for resident lifts and transfers.
• Ability to stand/walk long distances on campus during shift.
• Ability to push a med cart and dispense medications.
• Ability to react quickly in emergencies and to unexpected behavior.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate with residents clearly.

Responsibilities

• Administers prescribed medications and treatments following nursing techniques.
• Maintains accurate and descriptive records of resident care.
• Assigns daily care duties to Nursing Assistants and Hospitality Aides and monitors care delivery.
• Transcribes and implements physician orders and assists with visits.
• Participates in resident care planning.
• Evaluates residents’ physical and psychological needs and responds per nursing protocols.
• Assists with admissions and discharges of residents.
• Assists in managing Nursing Assistants and Hospitality Aides.
• Assists with direct resident care as time allows.
• Carries out physician orders and cooperates with the care team.
• Treats resident, family, and staff information as confidential.
• Follows corporate and departmental policies and maintains standards.
