Job summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Night position at Van Buren House within McAlester Regional Health Center provides nursing care to residents overnight. You will monitor health, administer medications, and collaborate with the care team to support individualized plans.

This role requires an active LPN license in Oklahoma, BLS, and willingness to work night shifts. Experience in long-term care is a plus; strong communication and documentation are essential.

Qualifications

• Current and valid LPN license in the state of employment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Previous experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility preferred but not required.
• Ability to work overnight shifts and adapt to a nighttime work environment.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and timely during the night shift.
• Monitor residents’ vital signs and overall health status, promptly identifying and reporting any changes or concerns.
• Provide direct nursing care including wound care, catheter care, and assistance with activities of daily living as needed.
• Document all nursing interventions, observations, and resident responses in compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to implement and update individualized care plans.
• Respond quickly and effectively to medical emergencies or resident needs during the night hours.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents, ensuring adherence to infection control and safety protocols.
