Job summary

DSV – Global Transport and Logistics in Chantilly, USA, seeks an Operations Manager for the Night Shift to oversee the transportation and logistics department’s day-to-day operations from 5pm, Monday to Friday. You will work with internal teams and external partners to ensure efficient transport, develop strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and monitor performance metrics.

The base pay range is $85,000–$95,000 annually, with final compensation based on experience and location, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in transportation and logistics or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation and logistics management.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of transportation and logistics regulations and compliance.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the transportation and logistics department's daily operations to ensure all processes run smoothly and efficiently
• Coordinate with internal departments, such as sales and customer service, to ensure customer needs are met
• Develop and implement transportation and logistics strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase profitability
• Collaborate with external partners, such as carriers and suppliers, to maintain strong relationships and ensure reliable transportation services
• Monitor transportation and logistics performance metrics and implement corrective actions where necessary
• Conduct regular audits of transportation and logistics processes to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations
• Provide timely and accurate reports on transportation and logistics activities to management
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize transportation and logistics operations
