Job summary

O'Neal Steel in Birmingham, AL is hiring a Loader for the 3rd shift (Sunday-Thursday, 8pm-4am). The role focuses on loading and unloading a wide range of materials in a heavy-industrial warehouse, using forklifts, cranes, and other equipment to move goods and meet DOT weight regulations.

Overtime and a criminal background check are required. The successful candidate will operate equipment, read tapes, verify orders, and maintain safety and quality standards while collaborating with teams to

• Operate a wide variety of material handling equipment including forklift, overhead crane, stacker.
• Read a tape measure accurately.
• Maintain a safe and organized work area.
• Follow established safety procedures.
• Able to perform loading duties 70% of the time or greater.

Responsibilities

• Operate a wide variety of material handling equipment including overhead crane, forklift, stacker, and other equipment.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving to plan moves.
• Verify material, quantity, packaging and special instructions for each order.
• Perform loading duties 70% of the time or greater.
• Use hand tools such as grinder, bander, drill, hammer, pliers, screwdriver, and wrench.
• Learn and retain product knowledge and rigging procedures across all products.
• Read a tape measure accurately.
• Maintain a safe and organized work area.
• Work in accordance with safety procedures.
