Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Fairmont, WV is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct nursing care in an inpatient setting on the night shift. You will support the physician and collaborate with the health care team to implement the plan of care.

Responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring patient status, documenting care, and assisting in examinations and procedures as directed.

Qualifications

• Current LPN license issued by the state or multi-state eNLC license.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire date.
• State and Federal background checks as required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care as directed by the plan of care and supervising role.
• Assists with examinations and procedures under supervision.
• Observes and reports patient status and response to treatment promptly.
• Administers IM, subcutaneous, IV, oral medications as assigned.
• Documents nursing interventions and patient responses in the medical record.
• Performs designated therapeutic procedures as needed.
• Contributes to patient and family education and discharge planning.
• Communicates observations to health care team and updates care plan.
