Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Lead Public Safety Officer for Evanston Hospital. This full-time role covers night shifts (10pm–6:30am) and includes duties coordinating security staff, training new officers, and responding to incidents.

The position offers competitive hourly pay based on experience and qualifications. Required: high school diploma or GED, 2+ years in customer-focused service, CPR, and valid Illinois FOID.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with 2+ years in a customer-focused service setting.
• CPR certification within 90 days of start date is required; Firearm Owner’s ID card must be valid.
• CPI certification within six months and potential IAHS certification within 12 months are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge to provide age-appropriate patient care.
• In the absence of the Shift Supervisor, coordinates department staff and assigns posts.
• Trains and orients new Security Officers on shift; supervises during shift.
• Monitors officers and provides direction during shifts.
• Determines when incidents require written reports and documents accordingly.
• Assists in coordinating interviews for investigations with employees and law enforcement.
• Briefs incoming Lead Officer and performs Public Safety Officer duties.
