UPMC Presbyterian is seeking a Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist to join the Automated Testing Laboratory, focusing on the Gas Lab, at Oakland's Clinical Lab Building. This is a full-time night shift position Monday to Friday with rotating holiday responsibilities.

The role emphasizes leadership, supervision, and ensuring high-quality laboratory operations, including instrument maintenance, QC, and staff development. A competitive sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 is offered for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in MLS or equivalent with accreditation.
• ASCP or equivalent certification preferred for MT/MLS.
• Two years' experience in a role equivalent to an MLS in a clinical lab.
• Three years' experience as an MLS required, two in host lab preferred.

Responsabilités

• Assumes supervisory duties and performs in-charge duties as needed.
• Assists with staff competency observation and documentation.
• Ensures instrument maintenance and function checks are performed and documented.
• Reviews QC logs and reports any errors or discrepancies to supervisors.
