Job summary

Kansas City Public Schools seeks a Lead Custodian for the mid shift/night to keep classrooms, offices, gyms and shared spaces clean, safe and attractive. You will supervise custodial staff, coordinate schedules, and ensure supplies and equipment are available for daily operations and events.

Starting pay is $21.85 per hour with a 260‑day work year, 7.5 hours per day, and full benefits. The role requires high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to work in a dynamic school environment.

Qualifications

• Experience is desired in custodial or facilities maintenance.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and safety of classrooms, offices, gym and restrooms.
• Supervise custodial staff and coordinate shift schedules.
• Prepare facilities for meetings, events and daily operations.
• Order and manage supplies and equipment as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and report maintenance needs.
