Job summary

Fire Manufacturing Innovations in Manitoba is seeking an operator to set up and run laser cutting equipment, ensuring parts meet print and traveler requirements. You will monitor performance, optimize material usage with nesting software, and follow Epicor ERP workflows.

The role requires 1-3 years in manufacturing, basic math skills, and the ability to work safely both independently and in a team, with attention to detail and the capacity to handle close tolerances.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to use basic math to analyze information and measuring equipment.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently.
• Ability to work with close tolerance.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• Additional courses in CNC set-up and operation.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and operate laser cutting machines according to prints and traveler requirements.
• Monitor machine performance and utilization.
• Diagnose machining issues and implement modifications as needed.
• Operate overhead cranes, tape measures, calipers, and hand tools.
• Program nesting software to maximize material usage.
• Adhere to safety procedures and ERP system requirements (Epicor).
• Perform operator maintenance and 5S housekeeping as scheduled.
