Job summary

Cardinal Health is recruiting for Nuclear Manufacturing in the Birmingham, AL area to produce PET radiopharmaceuticals in a regulated environment. Workers handle radioactive materials in ISO 7/5/8 cleanrooms and will follow strict exposure controls and documentation practices.

The role includes shift work from 9:00 PM to 4:00 AM with varying start times, extensive training, and a $1,500 sign-on bonus for new hires. Benefits and compliance with safety standards are emphasized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent; science education preferred.
• Must be able to work overnight shift as facility operates at night.
• Experience in manufacturing, preferably in a controlled or regulated environment.
• Ability to follow detailed processing instructions repeatedly.
• Ability to manage several tasks and exercise sound judgment.
• Frequent lifting between 50-75 lbs.
• Ability to see fine particulates and differentiate colors.
• Clear written and spoken English communication.
• Manual dexterity for equipment operation and handling small objects.
• Be an effective team member.

Responsibilities

• Successfully complete extensive training, including e-learning and hands-on components.
• Manufactures radioactive isotopes (synthesis setup, hot cell manipulations, distribution).
• Conducts quality control testing using GC, dose calibrator, MCA, TLC, HPLC, balances, PTS, hoods and fume hoods.
• Works in ISO 7 cleanroom to make product and customer vials.
• Performs environmental and personnel monitoring in ISO 5/7/8 environments.
• Coordinates daily production run schedule based on customer and pharmacy needs.
• Demonstrates strong documentation practices, oral communication, and writing skills.
• Performs clerical tasks including daily production records and report preparation.
• Manages SAP Inventory (receiving materials, inspecting, cycle counts).
• Performs daily radiation safety tasks and general lab cleaning.
