Job summary

Phoebe Putney Health System is seeking a Nights shift Lab Supervisor to oversee the laboratory for a designated shift/area, supervise personnel, and ensure adherence to procedures and regulatory standards. The role includes phlebotomy duties as needed and potential delegation to a competent MLT on the same shift.

Training new employees and acting as a designated person in charge are also involved. The position requires an associate degree in Medical Technology (or bachelor’s preferred), and

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Medical Technology is required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology is preferred.
• Certification by ASCP, AMT, AAB, or other agency approved by the hiring department is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision of Lab for a designated shift/area.
• Performs phlebotomy duties as needed.
• May serve as a delegating technologist to a competent MLT on the same shift.
• May orient and train new employees.
• May act as designated person in charge.
