Job summary

OhioHealth in the United States is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to oversee a clinical laboratory section, ensuring accurate testing, regulatory compliance and efficient operations.

The position manages technical operations and staffing, provides coaching and training, partners with medical staff, and may perform duties of Medical Technologists as site needs. Minimum qualification is an Associate’s Degree with 3-5 years of patient-care or clinical setting experience.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required and then 3–5 years of patient care or clinical setting experience.
• Ability to supervise staff, manage operations and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Strong communication and interdepartmental coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and directs departmental technical operations and human resources.
• Promotes customer service orientation with high standards for performance.
• Acts as interdepartmental liaison to resolve problems within the lab and with other departments.
• Investigates specimen issues, service delays, and professional guidance to physicians.
• Provides coaching and training; oversees ongoing education for staff.
• May perform responsibilities of Medical Technologists as required by site.
