Job summary

Colonial Group seeks a Technical Assistant for Miami Valley Hospital South in Centerville, OH, offering part-time or full-time night shift hours. Responsibilities include phlebotomy-related tasks, instrument loading, QC, and specimen handling under supervision.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy or specimen handling experience preferred.
• Associate degree in Natural Science/Allied Health or current MLS program.
• Laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and setup of laboratory instrumentation.
• Prepare and load quality control materials.
• Evaluate specimens for acceptability and load onto instruments.
• Recognize instrument malfunctions and assist with troubleshooting.
• Track inventory and stock supplies for daily operations.
• Conduct routine safety checks (temperature, eye wash, safety shower).
• Communicate problems to appropriate staff following procedures.
• Follow department policies and regulatory requirements.
