Job summary

Northwest Health- La Porte Hospital in Indiana is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Full Time Nights position in the Labor and Delivery Room. The role emphasizes patient-centered obstetric care, collaboration with the healthcare team, and maintaining high standards of safety and comfort for mothers and newborns.

The RN will educate patients, monitor maternal and fetal status, manage labor and delivery procedures, and participate in postpartum and newborn care.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required
• RN Licensure required and BCLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred where applicable
• Experience in obstetrics/labor and delivery desirable
• Strong knowledge of nursing process and patient safety practices

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Assesses and documents findings; reports changes to care team.
• Administers medications and monitors for side effects.
• Assists physicians during procedures within competency.
• Develops and evaluates individualized care plans.
• Responds to emergencies and participates in CPR/Code activities.
• Educates patients and families on conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
• Maintains infection control and safe patient environments.
