Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a registered nurse to assist with newborn care during deliveries, maintain neonatal resuscitation readiness, and perform comprehensive obstetrical support in a fast-paced Labor & Delivery setting.

The role requires an Associate Degree in Nursing with RN licensure (BLS and NRP required). Preference for a Bachelor’s degree and at least 1+ year of acute nursing experience. Competitive night shift pay and a robust benefits package are included.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with newborn care at deliveries and provide immediate care.
• Maintain neonatal resuscitation skills for emergencies.
• Assess high- and low-risk obstetrical patients to identify risks.
• Report maternal and newborn problems to physicians promptly.
• Assist with newborn transfers to other facilities when indicated.
• Identify and document newborns, mothers, and significant others to prevent mix-ups.
• Document care activities and band numbers in medical records.
• Assist in Labor & Delivery operating room for obstetrical procedures.
• Provide intraoperative and post-anesthesia care per standards.
• Perform steam sterilization of instruments and supplies.
• Offer emotional support to grieving families and connect them with support groups.
• Educate families about newborn care, health conditions, and post-discharge care.
