Job summary

Beacon Health System in Kalamazoo, MI seeks a full-time Nursing Assistant to support patient care on the night shift (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) with weekends and holidays rotating by unit. You will assist with direct patient care, stock and locate equipment, document observations, report changes to the RN, and ensure pain is communicated promptly.

A High School diploma or GED is required, with BLS certification within 30 days of hire, and orientation completion is expected.

Qualifications

• Must complete orientation/training programs for the position as evidenced by completion of competencies.
• Must be able to work effectively as a team member in the delivery of care and promote collaboration and a positive work environment.
• Must have computer skills to be able to enter and retrieve patient information.

Responsibilities

• Perform and assists with therapeutic and procedures.
• Observes and records pertinent information, consults with and reports significant reactions and changes in patient condition to the appropriate RN.
• Responsible for ensuring that the patient's pain is reported to Licensed Nurse.
• Inventory, Order, stock and locate various equipment and supplies needed for patient care.
