Job summary

Printpack is seeking an Ink Technician for the Grand Prairie, TX Converting plant. The role focuses on preparing, blending, and managing inks, primers, and adhesives to support printing operations on the third shift (Sun–Thu, 11pm–7am) with potential rotation to a 3/2 schedule.

The candidate will excel in color matching, formulate and tone colors for press runs, manage ink inventory, input data into PRISM, and uphold safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 2 years ink technician experience preferred.
• Proficiency in color matching and blending (must pass Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Color Vision Test).
• Knowledge of PRISM, SPEC, and X-RITE systems.
• Strong mathematical and analytical abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
• Understanding of safety protocols.
• Strong communication skills.
• Time management and organizational abilities.
• Must pass pre-employment assessment and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and blend raw materials for ink, primer, and adhesive formulation.
• Formulate and tone colors for press runs.
• Maintain press ink supply and prepare materials for upcoming jobs.
• Manage ink inventory and related materials.
• Process returned inks and track solvent usage.
• Input data into PRISM system.
• Handle, store, and label hazardous materials.
• Support press changeovers.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area.
• Operate equipment including lift trucks and pallet jacks.
• Contribute to waste reduction initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.
