Job summary

Impact Workforce Solutions is seeking an experienced Industrial Painter / Sandblaster for a night-shift role in Mayfield, KY. The position involves painting locomotives and heavy equipment, blasting metal surfaces, and performing cleanup duties in a demanding industrial setting.

You will apply primers and coatings, prepare surfaces, and operate spray guns and blasting equipment. Initial day-shift training is provided before transitioning to nights.

Qualifications

• Previous industrial painting experience on metal surfaces, including automotive equipment, trucks, trailers, bridges, structural steel, or heavy machinery.
• Experience operating spray guns and applying multi-stage paint finishes.
• Knowledge of metal surface preparation and industrial coating techniques.
• Sandblasting experience, preferably with large equipment or steel structures.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in dirty industrial environments.
• Willingness to complete initial day-shift training before transitioning to nights.

Responsibilities

• Apply industrial primer, color coats, and clear coats using pressurized paint pots and conventional cup spray guns.
• Prepare metal surfaces through sanding, cleaning, taping, masking, and applying bonding materials.
• Perform sandblasting and abrasive blasting on large metal components using industrial blasting equipment, including 2-inch hose systems.
• Apply decals and stickers to finished surfaces.
• Pressure wash locomotives and heavy equipment.
• Shovel, scrape, and remove accumulated sludge, dirt, and debris from locomotives.
• Maintain equipment, follow safety procedures, and ensure quality workmanship.
