Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic or Technician for our corrugated packaging plant in Devens, MA. You will keep high-speed equipment running to OEM standards, performing electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.

The role requires adhering to safety rules, training peers as needed, and operating during the 3rd shift (5 pm–5 am) with potential overtime. Starting pay is $30–$40 per hour, with benefits and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with large industrial equipment troubleshooting, preventive maintenance & repair.
• Mechanics must demonstrate proper selection, maintenance, and precision installation of drive systems.
• Technicians must have electrical knowledge and experience with electrical/control systems.
• Excellent communication and teamwork are essential.
• Experience in corrugated packaging or similar high-volume manufacturing is valued.
• Fireman license valid in MA or willingness to obtain one at company expense.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety rules and practices.
• Provide electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, preventive and emergency maintenance.
• Perform emergency breakdown maintenance as needed to support operations.
• Senior technicians may train peers and junior team members.
