Job summary

Buckner International is hiring a Resident Care Assistant to support residents in their homes during night shifts. You will provide personal care, assist with activities of daily living, and promote independence while upholding Buckner's standards of quality and hospitality.

Responsibilities include helping with bathing, grooming, mobility, meal planning, and safe transport as needed. A compassionate, respectful approach and teamwork are essential to inspire happiness in residents' lives.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year of related caregiving experience.
• Must have valid driver's license and ability to drive company or personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal assistance in the home setting to assist with activities of daily living.
• Provide or assist with oral/dental care, bathing, grooming, toileting, and/or showering while ensuring privacy and safety; encourage independence.
• Assist with range of motion or other exercises; ambulate client as directed per endurance.
• Assist in meal preparation and encourage resident to maintain independence; observe appetite and dietary planning.
• Respect clients’ rights by knocking on doors, addressing clients by name and titles; treat all clients with kindness, dignity and respect.
• Encourage clients to make their own decisions to promote independence.
• Respect facility/property; report grievances and complaints promptly.
• Comply with universal precautions policy at all times.
• Perform routine housekeeping duties for clients.
• Assist clients to and from scheduled activities; encourage participation.
