Job summary

St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado seeks a Registered Nurse for the Surgical Medical Intensive Care Unit (SMICU). You will provide compassionate, evidence-based care, collaborate with the healthcare team, and educate patients and families as part of a faith-based, Magnet-designated facility.

Join a 12-bed ICU with advanced monitoring and a focus on patient safety, while upholding the state Nurse Practice Act and nursing process to deliver high-quality, mission-driven care.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement.
• Active and unencumbered RN license in state of employment.
• BLS from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS from the American Heart Association.
• NIHSS.
• One year RN ICU experience.
• Physical requirements: Medium Work exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10lbs. constantly.
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• CCRN.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs.
• Evaluate patient’s response and implement plans of care with interdisciplinary team.
• Demonstrate competency in IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collection.
• Document interventions, patient response and outcomes; use IT for communication and decision-making.
• Promote and advocate for patient safety and educate patients/families.
• Provide teaching and evaluate effectiveness of teaching.
