Job summary

MercyOne Genesis Silvis Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Intensive Care Unit to provide high-level patient care on a 12-hour night shift, three days per week, with weekend and holiday rotations. Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, care planning, and coordination with the care team to optimize patient outcomes.

Minimum qualifications include an associate degree (BSN preferred), current IL RN license, and BLS; ACLS/TNCC and NVCI training are valued.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; BSN preferred.
• No experience required; critical care nursing experience preferred.
• Current IL RN license and Iowa RN license required within one year of hire.
• BLS, Mandatory Reporter; ACLS within 12 months; Cardiac monitoring course and/or related training.
• TNCC.
• NVCI within 6 months of hire.
• High language, intermediate to high math, high critical thinking ability.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
• Ability to work under pressure and with independence and accountability.
• Ability to lead/direct others in a high stress environment.

Responsibilities

• Conducts an initial assessment to gather data.
• Makes an initial assessment of new admissions within 30 minutes of arrival.
• Completes admission assessment database within 24 hours of admission.
• Identifies patient problems and develops outcome-based care plans.
• Initiates patient problem list and integrates relevant medical history.
• Analyzes assessment data to identify outcomes/goals.
• Determine nursing interventions to achieve outcomes/goals.
• Prioritize patient care needs and activities.
• Refer to support services and education needs as needed.
• Collaborate with health care disciplines to plan interventions and outcomes.
• Implement the plan of care and coordinate tasks.
• Coordinate plan of care with Case Manager and social workers.
• Assist to shorten length of stay by arranging discharge services.
• Reassess patient regularly to gauge response to interventions.
• Document instructions for discharge and follow-up.
