Job summary
UCI Health - Los Alamitos Hospital seeks a Nocturnist Physician to deliver overnight Hospital Medicine on our inpatient wards. Responsibilities include supervising APP staff, handling after-hours admissions from the ED, cross-coverage of admissions, and stabilizing acute changes in condition.
Candidates must hold MD/DO/MBBS or equivalent, possess an unrestricted CA medical license, and be ABIM board-certified in Internal or Family Medicine with relevant experience within two years of hire.
Qualifications
- MD/DO/MBBS or equivalent degree required.
- Unrestricted California medical license required.
- ABIM Board Certification in Internal or Family Medicine.
- Demonstrated quality-improvement experience.
- Leadership skills for team-based care.
- Current DEA license required.
- Current ACLS certification required.
- Experience in providing and/or oversight of care.
Responsibilities
- Provide overnight hospital medicine coverage for inpatient wards.
- Supervise APP staff and manage after-hours admissions from the ED.
- Cross-coverage of admitted patients and stabilization of acute conditions.
- Timely handoff of overnight events to the day Hospitalist team.
