Job summary

Duke University Health System is seeking Nocturnist Advanced Practice Providers to join the Hospital Medicine department. You will deliver patient care for inpatients during the night, collaborate with an overnight team, and support admission processes through ED and other pathways.

The role requires inpatient APP experience, ARCP/NP credentials, and ACLS certification prior to hire, with shifts from 9pm to 7am and opportunities to participate in Duke’s education and advancement programs.

Qualifications

• Inpatient APP experience is required.
• Education: PA program or NP program with appropriate credentialing.
• ACLS certification required before hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care for patients admitted in hospital medicine during night shifts.
• Nightly cross-coverage care management with the patient care team.
• Assess, evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients; order medications and therapies.
• Authorize transfers if needed at night and align with hospital initiatives.
• Collaborate with overnight team and admit patients via ED or other sources.
